Best forTurning a known project length and candidate package size into a transparent buying estimate while keeping specimen, finished-fabric, care, and supply decisions separateSearching current and out-of-print sewing patternsCross-referencing sewing patterns, materials, and member projectsAuditing inherited grade rules or controlling a new multi-size pattern release from approved targets through sample evidence
Know before usingThe tool does not verify label values, convert between metres and yards, identify fibre or yarn diameter, assign a yarn-weight category, predict gauge or fabric, prescribe reserve, guarantee required quantity, check dye-lot supply, score candidates, or approve a substitution. A representative treated specimen and project-specific fabric, care, wear, comfort, supply, and quantity review remain required.Community members add and quality-control the records, so confirm sizing, measurements, fabric suggestions, format, availability, errata, license, and purchase terms with the designer or publisher. Adding an entry to a stash does not provide the pattern files. Saved searches and private PDF storage are paid Plus features, and a listing or review does not establish pattern accuracy or fit.Textillia is community-contributed and now runs with minimal maintenance, so record freshness, coverage, moderation speed, and continued availability require direct inspection. It does not sell the indexed patterns or materials. Confirm pattern files, sizing, measurements, availability, licence, errata, fabric details, and seller terms with the responsible designer, publisher, or manufacturer. Account deletion permanently removes uploaded projects, and the checked pages do not establish a complete export route. The record does not create a production grade, supply universal increments or breakpoints, validate a CAD file or fit population, reproduce licensed standards, or replace qualified anthropometric, pattern, technical-design, fit, quality, accessibility, safety, statistical, and user-research review.

Before an accountNot yet reviewed at this level.Browse the pattern database, guide, designers, publications, and public community areas without creating an account.Browse public pattern, material, project, about, FAQ, and blog pages. Search and full database or community access route through sign-in.Not yet reviewed at this level.
Free-account boundaryNot yet reviewed at this level.A free account needs no card and supports a stash, wishlist, projects, reviews, and personal organization.A free account provides full database access, contribution, project and stash organization, forums, profiles, and related community tools. Not yet reviewed at this level.
Payment boundaryNot yet reviewed at this level.Plus adds PDF pattern storage, collections, saved searches, bulk editing, and other workflow features on monthly or annual billing. The current FAQ says the planned membership system will not launch and the site will not charge for access. Donations and shirt purchases are optional and separate. Not yet reviewed at this level.
Cancellation or exitNot yet reviewed at this level.Cancel through an in-account link. Paid features remain through the current billing cycle, then the account returns to free features. The FAQ links an account-cancellation process and says deletion is permanent, removes uploaded projects, and does not separately cancel newsletters or recurring donations. Not yet reviewed at this level.
Saved work and dataNot yet reviewed at this level. The terms say submitted materials remain yours, but the checked public pages do not explain a full export or how stored PDFs behave after downgrade. Keep originals outside the platform.Members can add projects, patterns, materials, and organization records. The checked pages establish permanent project deletion with account closure but no complete export route, so retain important records elsewhere. Not yet reviewed at this level.
Source and review
What the source establishesThe planner performs visible arithmetic only on user-entered project length, reserve, package length, package mass, and price. Its connected source-reviewed guide cites the current Craft Yarn Council category, FAQ, WPI, and hook-and-needle guidance plus ASTM and ISO linear-density sources, and explicitly separates label comparison from substitution approval.Threadloop's official guide describes an independent, fully crowdsourced database covering available and out-of-print sewing patterns. Its search supports pattern type, fabric type, age group, body type, cup size, level, format, file features, language, measurements, availability, and other filters; members can also track a stash, wishlist, projects, reviews, and discussions. Current terms state that the free plan requires no card, paid upgrades start billing immediately, cancellation retains paid features through the current cycle, and the account then returns to free features.Textillia's current about page describes an independent, centralized, crowdsourced database that cross-references sewing patterns, materials, resources, projects, designers, companies, and shops. Its FAQ says the site does not sell patterns or fabric, logged-in members can add records, full database access uses a free account, and paid memberships will not launch. A February 2026 notice says the dissolved company will continue the site as a donation-supported hobby project with minimal maintenance and reduced active development. The guide cites current ISO body-table, size-designation, and garment-measurement boundaries plus two peer-reviewed studies that tested the relationship between conventional grade rules, anthropometric evidence, and garment fit; it requires product-specific target deltas and validation instead of publishing universal increments.
