Best forFinding independent EU yarn or fibre dyers with off-Ravelry purchase routesFinding Thai fabric, sewing-supply, leather, trim, and material leads by category, intended use, production type, district, or operator before contacting a shop or supplierSearching current and out-of-print sewing patternsCross-referencing sewing patterns, materials, and member projects
Know before usingIt is one curator's intentionally selective, off-Ravelry-oriented database, inventories change, and paid supporters can receive rotating priority placement; verify availability, fibre claims, shipping, and terms directly. The public interface is in Thai, and the database covers many material types beyond textiles. Its original 2025 fashion-district project described more than 50 materials from 30 shops in five Bangkok districts, while the current site is broader; neither description establishes a complete Thai supplier census. Material Submission lets operators and developers propose records under stated selection criteria, so inclusion is not government approval, independent testing, current stock, product quality, commercial readiness, or project fit. Treat profile claims, material properties, composition, dimensions, mass, certifications, production type, capacity, hours, and contact details as leads to verify. Confirm the exact operator, sample, stock, composition, performance and test evidence, certification scope, minimum order, price, lead time, shipping, accessibility, rights, returns, and current contact directly.Community members add and quality-control the records, so confirm sizing, measurements, fabric suggestions, format, availability, errata, license, and purchase terms with the designer or publisher. Adding an entry to a stash does not provide the pattern files. Saved searches and private PDF storage are paid Plus features, and a listing or review does not establish pattern accuracy or fit.Textillia is community-contributed and now runs with minimal maintenance, so record freshness, coverage, moderation speed, and continued availability require direct inspection. It does not sell the indexed patterns or materials. Confirm pattern files, sizing, measurements, availability, licence, errata, fabric details, and seller terms with the responsible designer, publisher, or manufacturer. Account deletion permanently removes uploaded projects, and the checked pages do not establish a complete export route.

Payment boundaryNot yet reviewed at this level. Not yet reviewed at this level.Plus adds PDF pattern storage, collections, saved searches, bulk editing, and other workflow features on monthly or annual billing. The current FAQ says the planned membership system will not launch and the site will not charge for access. Donations and shirt purchases are optional and separate.
Cancellation or exitNot yet reviewed at this level. Not yet reviewed at this level.Cancel through an in-account link. Paid features remain through the current billing cycle, then the account returns to free features. The FAQ links an account-cancellation process and says deletion is permanent, removes uploaded projects, and does not separately cancel newsletters or recurring donations.
Saved work and dataNot yet reviewed at this level. Not yet reviewed at this level. The terms say submitted materials remain yours, but the checked public pages do not explain a full export or how stored PDFs behave after downgrade. Keep originals outside the platform.Members can add projects, patterns, materials, and organization records. The checked pages establish permanent project deletion with account closure but no complete export route, so retain important records elsewhere.
Source and review
What the source establishesThe individually researched database offers free listings and sortable yarn, fibre, designer, editor, accessory, and location views; the EU page spans multiple countries and direct seller profiles.Thailand's Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization) says it developed the TCDC Material Database to gather material and operator information from producers and distributors, and Thailand's government information portal describes the database as free to use. The live 2026 Thai interface exposes fabric and textile, leather, apparel and accessory use, commercial, bulk, small-quantity, imported, development, research, and low-capacity filters. It also publishes named material districts, material profiles, operator or shop pages, location and opening information where supplied, and current Material Submission activity.Threadloop's official guide describes an independent, fully crowdsourced database covering available and out-of-print sewing patterns. Its search supports pattern type, fabric type, age group, body type, cup size, level, format, file features, language, measurements, availability, and other filters; members can also track a stash, wishlist, projects, reviews, and discussions. Current terms state that the free plan requires no card, paid upgrades start billing immediately, cancellation retains paid features through the current cycle, and the account then returns to free features.Textillia's current about page describes an independent, centralized, crowdsourced database that cross-references sewing patterns, materials, resources, projects, designers, companies, and shops. Its FAQ says the site does not sell patterns or fabric, logged-in members can add records, full database access uses a free account, and paid memberships will not launch. A February 2026 notice says the dissolved company will continue the site as a donation-supported hobby project with minimal maintenance and reduced active development.
