Know before usingThis is a classroom textbook with particular womenswear exercises, charts, figures, terminology, units, and drafting methods. It is not a universal body, block, grading, or sizing system; current industry certification; or proof of fit for an individual wearer or product. Some content and examples predate the current review. Verify the intended body data, measurement protocol, ease, material, seam and construction rules, accessibility, current curriculum status, and representative sewn fit independently.Pricing is not public, modules and system requirements must be confirmed, and macOS is not supported. Vendor accuracy and fit language does not prove results for an actual product. Pilot native and exchanged files with the receiving supplier, calibrated materials, approved blocks and grade rules, marker and output devices, tech-pack fields, training, version control, and risk-appropriate physical fit and production checks. The result is a numerical unit conversion, not a new measurement or conformance decision; it does not establish sample or lot representativeness, significant digits, drape, warmth, opacity, thickness, stretch, strength, shrinkage, durability, sewability, end use, target, or tolerance.

Source and review
What the source establishesCBSE's official publication index links the Class XII Fashion Studies textbook. Its Basic Pattern Development chapter covers body and dress-form measurement, size relationships, patternmaking tools and terms, fit and balance, muslin test fitting, block correction, bodice, sleeve and skirt blocks, seam allowances, grain lines, notches, necklines, collars, and dart manipulation. The stated learning outcomes include developing blocks from charts and body measurements, testing fit, correcting the pattern, and developing simple designs from basic blocks.Optitex's current page describes 2D pattern creation, grading, verification, Tech Pack Essentials, marker creation and nesting, cut and plot output, 3D virtual samples, fabric simulation, colour and print placement, tension maps, and avatar editing. Its support page lists native and standard CAD interchange routes and states that Optitex does not support macOS.The calculator uses the NIST SP 811 Appendix B.8 conversion from avoirdupois ounces per square yard to kilograms per square metre and links to a source-reviewed fabric mass record for method, sampling, conditioning, and product controls.
