Know before usingThis is a classroom textbook with particular womenswear exercises, charts, figures, terminology, units, and drafting methods. It is not a universal body, block, grading, or sizing system; current industry certification; or proof of fit for an individual wearer or product. Some content and examples predate the current review. Verify the intended body data, measurement protocol, ease, material, seam and construction rules, accessibility, current curriculum status, and representative sewn fit independently.A shared nominal diameter does not make a knitting needle and crochet hook interchangeable or predict equal gauge or fabric. The reference is not a physical measurement, manufacturer inspection, UK or Canadian conversion, steel-hook chart, tool recommendation, yarn assignment, or project approval. An account is required and community, publisher, designer, shop, yarn, and project records can vary in currency and accuracy. Search results, ratings, favorites, and project examples do not establish pattern accuracy, yarn availability, seller reliability, fit, gauge, or project suitability. Confirm current files, errata, license, purchase and refund terms, measurements, yarn details, and shop information with the responsible source.

Source and review
What the source establishesCBSE's official publication index links the Class XII Fashion Studies textbook. Its Basic Pattern Development chapter covers body and dress-form measurement, size relationships, patternmaking tools and terms, fit and balance, muslin test fitting, block correction, bodice, sleeve and skirt blocks, seam allowances, grain lines, notches, necklines, collars, and dart manipulation. The stated learning outcomes include developing blocks from charts and body measurements, testing fit, correcting the pattern, and developing simple designs from basic blocks.Rechecked July 28, 2026. The lookup reproduces the current public Craft Yarn Council metric and U.S. alias rows, aligns hooks and needles only when their nominal millimetre value matches, and leaves missing rows or aliases unfilled.Ravelry's official description identifies a user-driven database of knitting and crochet patterns and yarns, searchable directories for designers, pattern sources, local yarn stores and yarn brands, and a personal notebook for projects, stash, tools, library items, queues, and favorites. Community members and volunteer editors add and maintain the database records.
