Know before usingThe portal does not decide whether a product requires certification, identify the correct rules or certificate data, classify an entry, replace the current 16 CFR part 1110 text, or reconcile a filing to an actual shipment. Effective dates and workflows differ by entry route; use current CPSC, CBP, customs, product-safety, and legal review.Source-reviewed describes the page and its cited decision boundaries. It does not authenticate a commercial roll, seller claim, fibre percentage, construction, finish, performance result, machine setting, care route, compliance status, supplier, or product fitness. Internal browse bands are navigation labels, not textile standards or product classes; an entry without a usable listed mass range is unclassified. Check the actual article, seller data, care label, equipment instructions, representative assemblies, applicable rules, and project requirements before deciding. The guide's general womenswear diagrams and ease ranges are teaching examples, not an individual diagnosis, current commercial-pattern specification, or complete fitting course. A named symptom can have several causes, and alterations may affect adjoining seams, facings, collars, sleeves, balance, and style. Verify the method against the exact pattern and test the coordinated changes on a muslin.

Source and review
What the source establishesCPSC operates the eFiling portal with role-specific importer, broker, applicability, Product Registry, regulated-product, laboratory, ACE, FAQ, video, and document-library routes. The certificate final rule took effect July 8, 2026 for covered non-FTZ products, with separate timing for covered FTZ entries. All 50 current cloth entries meet the source-reviewed content contract. The public index, cards, permanent pages, and site search expose that state, while the repository audit enforces a current review date, substantive scope, decision boundaries, and at least three external sources. The migrated cases cover fibre and family representations, woven and knitted construction, open nets, raised and dimensional surfaces, mass, thickness, drape, elasticity, colour, seams, pressing, care state, supports, and complete-product decisions.New Mexico State University's current Cooperative Extension Guide C-228 explains three alteration methods, folding out fullness, slashing and spreading or overlapping, and redrawing darts or seams. It provides illustrated bodice, sleeve, skirt, and trouser examples and tells readers to compare body measurements plus intended ease with the pattern while preserving grain, design lines, related-piece changes, and comfort ease.
