| Best for | Scoping training, hiring, assessment, or evidence requirements for basic textile-product pattern development and testing in Australia | Finding nationwide courses and training in traditional Norwegian textile techniques such as weaving, embroidery, and national-costume sewing through the national handcraft organization |
| Know before using | This is a competency and assessment reference, not an instructional course, pattern file, qualification by reading, provider recommendation, professional license, or proof that a person can perform the work. The route does not establish enrollment availability, teaching quality, fees, support, recognition outside Australia, or product-specific fit. Confirm the current unit status, packaging rules, prerequisites, registered provider, assessment conditions, local requirements, and actual evidence before relying on it. | Courses are organised by local husflidslag, so availability, language, schedule, and cost vary by area and most detail sits on local pages and the course calendar. The site is chiefly in Norwegian. This is a learning pathway rather than a formal qualification, a practitioner directory, or proof of skill. Confirm current courses, area, language support, booking, and cost directly. |

| What the source establishes | Australia's National Training Register publishes current unit MSTAT3002, Develop patterns using basic patternmaking principles. The release document describes interpreting textile-product design specifications, considering fabric performance, selecting tools and equipment, developing patterns, testing the result, and making alterations. Release 1 was generated December 22, 2022 and merged two earlier units. Current Australian apparel and live-production qualifications list MSTAT3002, while the current diploma also exposes advanced individual-fit, alteration, and fit-model units. | Norges Husflidslag, Norway national handcraft organization based in Oslo, maintains a Courses and training (Kurs og opplaering) section with a course calendar (Kurskalender), a training-and-education page, and a dedicated national-costume and weaving training programme (Bunad- og vevopplaeringa). Its subject pages (Fagsider) include techniques (Teknikker) and materials (Materialer). Local husflidslag across the country run courses in textile crafts such as embroidery and national-costume sewing. The organization publishes an English About Us page. |
