Know before usingAn account is required and community, publisher, designer, shop, yarn, project, and connected-app records can vary in currency and accuracy. The checked public pages do not establish API credential eligibility, current endpoints, scopes, rate limits, support, app quality, or a complete account export. Search results, ratings, favorites, and project examples do not establish pattern accuracy, yarn availability, seller reliability, fit, gauge, or project suitability. Confirm current developer terms, files, errata, license, purchase and refund terms, measurements, yarn details, and shop information with the responsible source.Community members add and quality-control the records, so confirm sizing, measurements, fabric suggestions, format, availability, errata, license, and purchase terms with the designer or publisher. Adding an entry to a stash does not provide the pattern files. Saved searches and private PDF storage are paid Plus features, and a listing or review does not establish pattern accuracy or fit.The guide's general womenswear diagrams and ease ranges are teaching examples, not an individual diagnosis, current commercial-pattern specification, or complete fitting course. A named symptom can have several causes, and alterations may affect adjoining seams, facings, collars, sleeves, balance, and style. Verify the method against the exact pattern and test the coordinated changes on a muslin.A generated pattern is not independent fit evidence or a production-ready graded block. The result still depends on accurate measurements, the selected design and options, ease assumptions, fabric behavior, construction, and representative test garments. An account stores saved patterns and measurement sets, so review the platform's privacy terms before retaining personal measurements.

Source and review
What the source establishesRavelry's official description identifies a user-driven database of knitting and crochet patterns and yarns, searchable directories, and a personal notebook. Community members and volunteer editors maintain database records. The current official Goodies page exposes an account-gated developer API route, a limited Project Progress API JSON export, and a stash spreadsheet; the official apps directory lists third-party apps that connect to Ravelry.Threadloop's official guide describes an independent, fully crowdsourced database covering available and out-of-print sewing patterns. Its search supports pattern type, fabric type, age group, body type, cup size, level, format, file features, language, measurements, availability, and other filters; members can also track a stash, wishlist, projects, reviews, and discussions. Current terms state that the free plan requires no card, paid upgrades start billing immediately, cancellation retains paid features through the current cycle, and the account then returns to free features.New Mexico State University's current Cooperative Extension Guide C-228 explains three alteration methods, folding out fullness, slashing and spreading or overlapping, and redrawing darts or seams. It provides illustrated bodice, sleeve, skirt, and trouser examples and tells readers to compare body measurements plus intended ease with the pattern while preserving grain, design lines, related-piece changes, and comfort ease.FreeSewing's official documentation says the browser editor drafts a selected design in real time from a measurement set rather than scaling or grading a standard-size pattern. Users can adjust design options and export the generated result, including as PDF; saving the pattern to an account is optional and is used to revisit it later.
