| What the source establishes | NIST defines 1 yard as exactly 0.9144 metre. Sewing & Craft Alliance guidance ties an applicable cutting layout to the exact view, size, fabric width, and nap condition and recommends layout work when listed conditions do not fit the project. | YarnSub's official FAQ says its matching software compares gauge, texture, yarn weight and density, fibre content, and fibre qualities such as drape and softness. Discontinued yarns remain searchable as starting points but are excluded from suggested replacements, and each yarn page provides a route to report source-data problems. | Optitex's current page describes 2D pattern creation, grading, verification, Tech Pack Essentials, marker creation and nesting, cut and plot output, 3D virtual samples, fabric simulation, colour and print placement, tension maps, and avatar editing.
