Know before usingThe portal does not decide whether a product requires certification, identify the correct rules or certificate data, classify an entry, replace the current 16 CFR part 1110 text, or reconcile a filing to an actual shipment. Effective dates and workflows differ by entry route; use current CPSC, CBP, customs, product-safety, and legal review.AFIRM states that its list is guidance, not legal advice, an industry standard of care, or a guarantee of completeness or brand acceptance. It does not replace current law, a customer's stricter RSL, manufacturing-input controls, a product-specific risk and sampling plan, accepted laboratory methods, supplier controls, or performance and safety testing.A company result is not a blanket approval; confirm the certificate scope, validity, facility, process, product, and transaction documentation for the exact purchase.

Source and review
What the source establishesCPSC operates the eFiling portal with role-specific importer, broker, applicability, Product Registry, regulated-product, laboratory, ACE, FAQ, video, and document-library routes. The certificate final rule took effect July 8, 2026 for covered non-FTZ products, with separate timing for covered FTZ entries.AFIRM publishes a 2026 multilingual Restricted Substances List for chemicals in finished apparel, footwear, accessories, and related materials, with a material-specific testing matrix. Its FAQ says the list does not cover product-performance testing, distinguishes the finished-product RSL from manufacturing-input lists, and tells suppliers to check each customer's brand-specific requirements and testing acceptance. The official GOTS search exposes certified entities by country, field of operation, product category, and certification detail, including processing and trading scopes.
