Know before usingThis is a teacher-led NSW secondary-school resource, not an adult self-guided course, professional qualification, current equipment or safety manual, factory production specification, universal sewing method, or proof of product fitness. Large DOCX and PPTX files require compatible software and may create accessibility barriers. Confirm current machine instructions, supervision, measurements, material behavior, syllabus requirements, and project-specific safety independently. The portal does not decide whether a product requires certification, identify the correct rules or certificate data, classify an entry, replace the current 16 CFR part 1110 text, or reconcile a filing to an actual shipment. Effective dates and workflows differ by entry route; use current CPSC, CBP, customs, product-safety, and legal review. The result is a numerical unit conversion, not a new measurement or conformance decision; it does not establish sample or lot representativeness, significant digits, drape, warmth, opacity, thickness, stretch, strength, shrinkage, durability, sewability, end use, target, or tolerance.

Source and review
What the source establishesThe NSW Department of Education's current Technology 7-8 page describes approximately 20 weeks of adaptable 60-minute lesson sequences for practical textile skills, product design, materials, and production processes. It exposes a program of learning, teacher resource, two sample assessments, and a slide deck. The page records a January 22, 2026 update, and both the page and direct program document returned successfully during review.CPSC operates the eFiling portal with role-specific importer, broker, applicability, Product Registry, regulated-product, laboratory, ACE, FAQ, video, and document-library routes. The certificate final rule took effect July 8, 2026 for covered non-FTZ products, with separate timing for covered FTZ entries. The calculator uses the NIST SP 811 Appendix B.8 conversion from avoirdupois ounces per square yard to kilograms per square metre and links to a source-reviewed fabric mass record for method, sampling, conditioning, and product controls.
