| What the source establishes | The Tanzania Bureau of Standards explains that compulsory standards prescribe obligatory requirements or essential product characteristics and links an 82-page List of New and Revised Compulsory Standards as of October 2025. Textile entries include TZS 690:2022 for garment quality, TZS 691:2022 for general labeling of products manufactured from textiles, TZS 693-1 and 693-2:2022 for clothing-size designation, TZS 689-1:2020 for cotton uniform fabrics, TZS 897:2020 for woven suit and trouser fabrics, TZS 898:2020 for schoolwear, TZS 900-1 and 900-2:2020 for knitted vests, TZS 910:2020 for woven cotton apparel fabrics, TZS 912:2020 for T-shirts, TZS 758:2023 for used textile inspection and acceptance, and multiple protective-textile standards.
