| What the source establishes | The Australian Government Federal Register of Legislation marks F2023L01187, the Consumer Goods (Care Labelling) Information Standard 2023, as in force, administered by the Department of the Treasury, authorised by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, and current at the registered September 4, 2023 version. The instrument commenced September 5, 2023 under subsection 134(1) of the Australian Consumer Law. It defines regulated goods and detailed exemptions. After its two transition periods, section 10 requires regulated goods to use either section 11's varied AS/NZS 1957:1998 route or section 12's ISO 3758:2012 Clause 4 route. | AAFA published RSL Version 26 on January 28, 2026 in searchable spreadsheet and PDF formats. The association describes it as a regularly updated reference to laws and regulations restricting chemicals in finished apparel, footwear, accessories, and home textiles. Its methodology records final-product or component limits, jurisdiction, test method, and comments, and excludes factory-process restrictions and non-chemical product-safety rules. |
