| What the source establishes | The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Product Safety page identifies the Consumer Goods (Care Labelling) Information Standard 2023 as the mandatory rule for prescribed clothing, household textiles, furnishings, bedding, piece goods, textile yarns, leather, fur, and other listed goods. It publishes the main exclusions, states that suppliers may use English care instructions, the five internationally recognised care symbols, or both, and links the registered instrument and explanatory statement.
