Best forComparing official women's-clothing competency expectations across measurement, pattern work, layout and cutting, fitting, correction, sewing, materials, and three skill levels
Know before usingThis Traditional Chinese standard was most recently revised on August 15, 2016. It covers broader custom women's-clothing construction, not industrial ready-to-wear patternmaking alone. It is not a course, downloadable garment pattern, provider directory, qualification awarded by reading, or proof of individual skill. Occupation 04800 appears in the checked 2026 national brochure's competition or exemption mapping but not its annual scheduled-occupation tables. Confirm current availability, application route, level, eligibility, fees, location, language, and test documents.

What the source establishesThe Workforce Development Agency's occupation 04800 standard defines three women's-clothing skill levels. Class C covers simple garments, drafting and measurement tools, body measurement, material identification and treatment, paper-pattern separation, layout and cutting, fitting, and pattern correction. Class B extends the work to dresses and outerwear, design and pattern use, body proportions, paper-pattern segmentation, spreading and cutting, fitting, correction, and sewing. Class A covers advanced garments and decisions including tailored suits, coats, jackets, eveningwear, varied materials, and body types. The official exam process says academic and practical questions are built within the applicable skill-test standard.
