Best forFinding beginner-supported sewing and upcycling sessions or booking guided self-service sewing-machine access through Singapore public libraries
Know before usingThis is an in-person Singapore route that requires current NLB membership and booking conditions. It does not promise that every location, machine, time slot, workshop, material, staff member, or access accommodation is always available. Some equipment requires certification. Booking or workshop participation is not a professional qualification, repair-service engagement, or proof of independent machine competence. Confirm eligibility, opening hours, dates, availability, age guidance, accessibility, machine rules, permitted projects, materials, and safety directly with NLB.

What the source establishesSingapore's National Library Board describes MakeIT at Libraries as a beginner-friendly programme with sewing and upcycling areas, guided facilities, free workshops and materials for NLB members, an age recommendation of 15 and above, and locations at Jurong, Tampines, Woodlands, and Punggol. The MakeIT Yourself page, last updated December 30, 2025, says users of any experience can book sewing machines and use written guides, pre-use checks, safety and help instructions, cleanup, and fault reporting.
