| Best for | Comparing course, portfolio, hiring, or assessment scope with New Zealand patternmaking outcomes before checking a consented provider and current standard documents |
| Know before using | This domain is an assessment-standard register, not a qualification, current course-opening directory, provider recommendation, professional license, practitioner certification, universal block or sizing system, ready pattern, or proof that a person can perform the work. A consent-to-assess link does not establish current enrollment, teaching quality, price, accessibility, equipment, software, support, or project fit. Some linked unit PDFs retain old publication dates, planned-review dates, organization names, legislation, and accreditation terminology even when the live register does not mark the entry expired. Check the live status and replacements first, then confirm the current unit document, CMR, consented provider, assessment conditions, actual evidence, currency, and product-specific pattern and fit requirements directly. |

| What the source establishes | NZQA's Apparel Design and Patternmaking domain reports data as at July 16, 2026. It lists zero qualifications and 23 assessment-standard entries: 16 are not marked expired and seven are explicitly marked expired. Current entries name outcomes for women's, men's, children's, structured-underwear, lingerie, and swimwear blocks; outerwear measurement and fitment; block manipulation; manual grading; CADCAM pattern input, plotting, and grading; structured-jacket patterns and product specifications; and commercial garment-assembly analysis. The live entries publish levels, credits, versions, consent-to-assess links, CMR 30, and a standard-setting body. The status labels keep expired production-pattern, lace, children's grading, underwear-measurement, and other entries distinguishable from current ones. |
