Before the first task

We are testing the site, not you.

Use your normal device and say what you are looking for, expecting, and doubting as you work. The facilitator should stay quiet unless you are completely stuck.

  1. Start cold. Each task opens the homepage in a new tab. Do not prepare search terms in advance.
  2. Think aloud.Say what labels mean to you and why a result looks useful or untrustworthy.
  3. You can stop.Participation is voluntary. Stop the session or skip any activity that feels uncomfortable.
Choose the cohort that best matches how you would use the site.

Facilitator check

This lane can advance the moderated milestone only when a facilitator is present, gives the neutral protocol, and records help as assisted rather than completed.

What this runner records

An anonymous session code, cohort, study mode, task outcome, one friction category, and elapsed time. It does not ask for or send your name, email, free-text notes, business details, audio, video, or screen recording. Hosting infrastructure may retain ordinary request metadata. Read the participant information sheet for use, retention, and withdrawal details.

For facilitators: obtain separate informed consent before taking notes or making any recording. The runner itself makes no recording and accepts no free-text response.
